New 'Mesh' Total Isolation Technology for Improved Lightning Survivability of CP
Remote Monitors

NTG proudly introduces its 3rd generation of wireless remote monitors with another major technology improvement - wireless 'mesh' sensors. These simple, compact battery-powered modules wirelessly communicate rectifier voltage, current, pipe-to-soil potential, interrupter status, etc. to the nearby RMU base unit using short range, Bluetooth-like wireless technology.

Advantages of this technology for CP rectifier monitoring applications:

  • Vastly improved ability of the system to survive lightning surges. The battery-powered module (slightly larger than a deck of cards) is floating and isolated from the rest of the system, with no current path to ground. In the unlikely event of a damaged sensor, it is simply replaced, while the rest of the system continues to function.
  • Extremely simple installation. Simply connect the 2-wire sensor modules to the measurement points, mount the wireless RMU base unit inside the rectifier or on a nearby pole (there are no wires to connect), and push the transmit button.
  • Easy to add more measurement channels or GPS-Synchronized Interruption later on. Monitor a close-by test point or critical bond with additional 'mesh' sensors, or easily bolt on the mesh controlled GPS-synchronized rectifier Interruption module.
  • Most powerful website in the CP remote monitoring business. NTG's Pipeline Watchdog Web Monitor provides unparalleled control and exception alarming and delivers custom CP data reports for import to all popular CPDM programs - Bass-Trigon, ProActive, Paradigm, Excel, etc.
